Good-Tasting Energy Drink Mix

 on September 17, 2018
By Jerry P. Danzig
In truth, I can’t speak to all the “explosive” properties the manufacturer claims for this product. I limit myself to a mug of coffee a day, so I use a slurp of this stuff as a quick pick-me-up when I’m starting to droop. The primary ingredients of Challenge are caffeine, taurine, and creatine, the latter of which supposedly helps muscles grow. What I can say is this stuff tastes pretty good to me, the strong punch flavor working pretty well to hide the inevitable chemical aftertaste of a concoction like this. Though a container isn’t cheap, it supposedly yields around 30 10-ounce glasses of the bombastic beverage, which might make it a bargain compared to Red Bull or the like. And it’s easier to store and tote a container of powder than cans or bottles of energy drink. So if you’d like some extra fuel to fire up your workouts — or you would just like a good-tasting and less expensive alternative to an energy drink — you might want to try Challenge for yourself.

Really Good-Especially For A Beginner

Challenge by GNC is a good pre-work out drink for those who like a little lower caffeine in their work out beverage. A lot of these pre-work out drinks contain 250 ml of caffeine and for those who like a little less kick, this is the Perfect drink. This one will not bring on the jitters but will help with the intensity of your work out. The taste is sweet but pleasant and it’s a really good pre-work out, especially if you are just starting with this type of product. My daughter uses this for the gym but she also uses much stronger drinks. I feel more comfortable with this one with the lower amount of caffeine. She likes the higher but it does have strange effects. This is a really good, not too strong pre-work out energy drink. If you are starting out with this-GNC is a very trusted brand and this tastes good and works really well. This is a fairly long lasting container as well.

Refreshing Fruit Punch Flavored Pre-Workout Dietary Supplement – Caffeine Loaded

 on September 29, 2018

Pre-Workout Intensity Dietary Supplement promises “explosive energy & focus” when taken prior to working out, or even on non-training days. Each serving contains 200 mg of caffeine. That’s more than twice the caffeine in a regular cup of coffee. My husband has used have the container and is usually effected by caffeine, but denies feeling over-caffeinated by this supplement. Since he unusually sensitive to stimulants, I guess that means this product is well tolerated. The supplement is also loaded with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. It has sodium in it, so what out if you are on a sodium restricted diet. It has sugar substitute and no sugar. My husband says it tastes like fruit punch. He finds it refreshing. It’s easy to mix. Overall, he likes this product before a workout.

Okay-tasting, caffeine creatine drink

I mainly want a boost of energy before my workouts, and this drink delivers that with its caffeine content. Taste is so-so, with a somewhat bitter aftertaste that is relieved by washing it down with lots of water like the label recommends. I’m glad they list ingredients, instead of proclaiming a “Proprietary Superhero Blend,” and nothing in there looks problematic to me. The creatine is one of the few gym supplements that is recommended to all, just be aware it might make you gain water weight.

It Works

It works. It takes about 20-25 min for it to kick in but it does its job. The blue frostberry flavor was pleasant. I liked it. The scoop size is a little larger than most of the other products I have used, but not by much. It also dissolved quickly.

Not crazy about the taste, just sweet. But 1 serving has 200mg so it definitely gives me nice kick. Also like Vit B blend and aminoacids. Dissolves without problems in water with ice in a blender bottle.

Sticky sweet

Stuff is really sweet, oh so sticky sweet. Taste like koolaid, but really sweet. Stuff isn’t bad it’s loaded with 200mg caffeine ,creatine, arginine, and all that old school stuff. Stuff is just a bit sweet, make sure to add plenty of water. Flavoring is OK. Just a bit on the Sweet side. Kind of sweet. Almost a cherry tartness to it and a bit sour ,oh so very sweet! Fruit punch taste like a tart cherry that really kicks you in the jewels. It’s good stuff just make sure to add enough water. As far as effects go it’s OK. Kind of old-school. Proven GNC quality! Good price for this one. That’s nice for a change right GNC.
