LOVE!!! The people complaining about this product are ridiculous and I’m honestly really annoyed at them. THIS IS NOT FOR RUNNING! I don’t know why people are posting 1 star and complaining that you can’t run in these – WHY WOULD YOU?! This product is fantastic for kickbacks and donkey kicks. The 20 pounds was a lot heavier than I thought, so I’m starting at 10 and working my way up. I’m 5’6” and 150lbs 28 year old woman. I squat about 130-140 and do the cable kickbacks at the gym up to 25 lbs. This is something I can do at home if I need a little extra boost, or I can make it to the gym. So if you want to run with ankle weights, get the flimsy 5lbers. Toughen up, everyone 🙂

The reason for only 4 stars is I think 2 straps would have been the better design choice

Just received this item, so first impressions: I guess I kind of expected there to be two weights, but it does clearly say on the listing, on the box, etc. that it’s one, so my fault for not reading more carefully and for not ordering two. I just thought that since most people have two ankles, there’d be two weights. I wrapped it on, and one does have to pull the velcro strap TIGHT so it doesn’t flop around. That being said, 20 lbs. is a LOT to start with. The reason for only 4 stars is I think 2 straps would have been the better design choice. I feel like I have a 5 gal. bucket of concrete for a shoe. It’s good the weights can be taken out. It feels comfortable with all the padding. Doing leg lifts and all, you can absolutely feel the resistance, and it stays put pretty well. Someone asked if these were OK for running. Yeah, if you’re Superman (but, then, would you need these…?) So far, I think this product is really not even intended for walking. If I had two on, I’d probably walk with the same springy gait as Gigantor or a T-Rex. However, if you want to use the one on the one leg for a set of exercises, then switch to the other, this will do fine.

Secure, No Mess Individual 1 to 20-Pound Weights

I had been searching for a while for individual ankle weights over 10 pounds. I bought two of these so that I don’t have to switch back and forth between ankles. The one-pound metal weights inside are great since folks can add one pound at a time, up to 20 pounds. Since they’re not plastic and filled with iron sand, they don’t come apart and loose sand doesn’t get everywhere. These weights stay secure inside the flap with very strong hook and loop. For my ankles, they’re very comfortable and don’t move around. Now, I want 25- or 30-pound ankle weights for the future.

good product only one drawback

Good product. I ordered the adjustable ankle weight because I do in home workouts. I will start my listing the pros. – I received the weight in an undamaged box. – the stitching does not tear around the individual weights – the Velcro does not come undone while using the weight The only con is I cannot tighten the strap tight enough so the weight does not slide up and down my leg. This my be because there is not enough room to put 20 lbs worth of weights in an ankle strap without limiting the girth of the strap. Overall the ankle weight is made durable. When in use, it is an effective tool while working legs if the weight sliding up and down is not a bother.

I love that they are metal bars rather than sand that gets messy sometimes and these seem to be the only ankle weights that go higher than 10 ibs. One complaint is that I have to put the weight on so tight it damn near cuts off circulation in my leg because if I don’t the weight slides right off my ankle when doing donkey kicks. Also, you have to buy two separate ones for $65/each. Either way, I’d still say this ankle weight is worth it. It’ll be great for adding variety to my glute and leg routine.
